New Astro Type Showcase

Deliverable:
Kinetic Specimen was a project in which designers were to animate a traditional type specimen sheet. Designers were tasked to be authentic to the typeface’s voice, bringing energy and personality while efficiently showcasing the typeface and all of its fonts.
Concept:
The typeface I chose was New Astro from the type foundry Newlyn. The Typeface interested me with its strong curves and sci-fi feel. For the motion in this piece, I wanted to convey the dynamic energy and curved movement seen throughout the type.
Software:
Designed in Illustrator and animated in After Effects.
